Ever since I can remember I always wanted to become a vet and spend my childhood developping my riding skills & learning everything I could especially about horses and dogs. Later on I studied my veterinary degree at Veterinary and Pharmaceutical University Brno, Czech Republic, becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2003.
After my graduation I decided to come to the UK and after brief spell working as a groom & home rider in showjumping yard (while learning English), I started working as a vet in the mixed practice in Kent. I have stayed working for this practice over 8 years, and during this time I slowly moved from being true mixed vet to becoming mainly Equine vet, with particular interest in lameness & performance issues of horses. To improve my knowledge in this area I continued my post-gradual training under Liverpool University and achieved a RCVS recognised Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in Equine Surgery and Orthopaedics (Cert AVP ES-O) in 2010.
I always found that many of my lameness or performance cases had altered biomechanics and often associated back problems, which are notoriously difficult to treat by traditional veterinary medicine. This lead me to look further into "alternative" treatments and I started my education in manual therapies by attending a course in animal chiropractic under International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractics (IAVC), which I completed in 2012. Following the graduation I have passed an independent clinical competency examination with International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (IVCA).
I then founded a solely equine ambulatory practice East Kent Equine Ltd in 2014, where I enjoyed all aspects of equine medicine alongside two other vets working with me. During this time I completed another RCVS recognised Certificate in 2016, this time in Advanced Veterinary Practice in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (Cert AVP VDI).
Sadly, due to staffing issues following Brexit (and both of my vets deciding to leave the UK), I had to make the heartbreaking decision to close my general veterinary practice in 2018 (as I was unable to continue provide all services to our clients on my own). Since then East Kent Equine became referral practice, where I provide services only for lameness investigations and investigations into poor performance & associated diagnostic imaging and treatment.
Reducing my veterinary work allowed me to continue my education in manual therapies and in 2019 I started studying osteopathy at Vluggen Institute in Germany, graduating with honours in 2021 and becoming an Equine Osteopath EDO. Seeing the amazing results I could acheive with treating horses with osteopathy, I then decided to continue my education by adding another post-gradual course in canine osteopathy (also at Vluggen Institute), graduating as Canine Osteopath CDO in 2022. After meeting amazing osteopath Paolo Tozzi at one of the conferences I attended and seing him treat a horse with different osteopathic techniques that I have learnt previously, I then decided to attend his course in Canine Osteopathy in 2024, which I completed in 2025. This course provided me with number of new osteopathic techniques that are not only effective, but also loved by the animals.
Having both veterinary background as well as knowledge of both chiropractic and osteopathic techniques allows me to offer trully integrated care for horses and dogs with both musculoskeletal and visceral problems.
